Alright... the cat is officially out of the bag through underground channels. Attention World War II movie aficionados -- HBO has been working on a Band of Brothers-esque, 10-part mini series following three Marines throughout their wartime ordeal titled The Pacific. Check out The Pacific website, well... the unofficial site.

The site provides an insider's look of the production, which was primarily shot in Australia. A significant portion of the special will focus on EB Sledge's With The Old Breed, a well-written book following "Sledgehammer's" experience as a mortarman with the 5th Marines. If you watch the History Channel much, you may already be familiar with E.B., as he was interviewed often about his experience and considered a subject matter expert. I highly suggest you read the book before viewing the mini-series, and then park it by your couch for quick reference during the airing --- like the rest of us hardcore nerds!
