PFC Elza Bowdle, originally from Clarksburg Ohio served as a medical technician in Africa and Europe, serving at the 80th Station Hospital. He enlisted in the U.S. Army October 26, 1942 and was serving in North Africa as early as June 18, 1943 at the 80th Station Hospital. In mid-October, 1944, the hospital transferred from North Africa to a new base in Southern France. Roughly a year later, on October 28, 1945, Bowdle was discharged from the U.S. Army.
